Eneos and Tokyo-based trading firm Sojitz have jointly opened the 204 MW Edenvale Solar Park in Queensland, Australia.
This solar facility, located on approximately 428 ha near Chinchilla, west of Brisbane, will supply energy to Queensland's Gregory Crinum coking coal mine, owned by Sojitz. The project incorporates around 400,000 solar panels and is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by 320,000 tonnes per year.
Eneos and Sojitz jointly own the Edendale solar project with each holding a 50% stake. Spanish company Gransolar was responsible for construction, operations and maintenance of the solar facility. The Edendale solar park is connected to the transmission grid via Powerlink's existing Orana substation in the Southern Queensland Renewable Energy Zone.
