AES Tiete Energia has formed a joint venture with the Brazilian chemical company, Unipar Carbocloro SA, to develop a 155 MW wind farm in the State of Bahia.
The wind project will be developed in the cities of Tucano, Biritinga, and Araciin in 2021. The wind farm will require an investment of about BRL4 million (US$963,000) per MW installed.
Unipar Carbocloro will purchase 60 average megawatts (MWa) of the energy produced by the wind project under a 20-year power purchase agreement deal.
