AES Gener, Ecopetrol sign PPA for San Fernando solar PV project in Castilla La Nueva

Santiago-based power company AES Gener SA, through its subsidiary AES Colombia, has signed a 15-year power purchase deal with the Colombian oil company Ecopetrol SA for the energy produced from its 59 MW San Fernando solar photovoltaic project in Castilla La Nueva. 

The facility will be equipped with 113,000 bifacial monocrystalline silicon panels built on about 47 hectares of land area. 

The project is expected to be operational by 2021.
