Synera Renewable Energy Group (SRE) has submitted the administrative contract for the 800 MW Formosa 6 offshore wind project to the Energy Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taiwan.
Formosa 6 will be located off the coast of Xianxi Township, Changhua County, marking SRE’s first venture into central Taiwan. The site spans approximately 84 sq km, with the nearest distance to shore being around 35 km. The project secured 800 MW development capacity in the second auction of Phase 3 Zonal Development of Offshore Wind. Once operational and connected to the grid, the wind farm is expected to power about 860,000 households.
