ABO Wind has commissioned the 50 MW Margariti solar photovoltaic (PV) project in northwestern Greece. The PV farm consists of around 93,000 bifacial solar panels and 10 central inverter units.
Margariti is scheduled to be commissioned in mid-2023. The solar farm will produce roughly 76 GWh of renewable energy and prevent over 32,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually. It will connect to the grid via an adjacent substation that is currently under construction.
WIRTGEN INVEST Energy has recently acquired the project and is providing its entire equity finance. ABO Wind will also supply the solar farm with operational management and maintenance services.
