JERA Co., Ltd. has completed the installation of all 47 wind turbine generators (WTGs) at the Formosa 2 offshore wind project located off the coast of Miaoli County, Taiwan. With a total installed capacity of 376 MW, the project is poised to begin full-scale generation to the grid.
The wind facility features 47 units of the SG8.0-167 DD offshore wind turbine. It is estimated to displace 18,750 kt CO2 over its lifetime while powering the equivalent of 380,000 households annually. The project is jointly owned by JERA(49 %), Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (26.0%), and Synera Renewable Energy (25.0%). In September 2022, the final jacket foundations for the wind farm were completed.
