OnPath Energy has appointed three key contractors to work on its 33.4 MW Mill Rig Wind Farm project in Scotland.
Nordex will supply and install six turbines with a tip height of up to 200 m at the site, while energy consultancy Natural Power will provide construction management services. R J McLeod will deliver the balance of the plant contract, which covers all the required civil engineering work as well as cabling and off-site highway construction. The wind farm site straddles the South Lanarkshire and East Ayrshire border near Darvel. Once operational the wind farm will generate enough green electricity to power over 45,000 homes and offset 27,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.
Development work is expected to begin before Easter, with the N163.5/X turbines set to be delivered during the autumn. Construction and commissioning work is scheduled to be completed by spring 2026. OnPath has been working towards beginning construction of the six-turbine project since it secured planning permission in 2022.
