Eskom

Eskom, formally known as Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd., is a South African state-owned electricity public utility company. Eskom is the primary electricity supplier in South Africa, playing a pivotal role in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity across the country. The company provides power to industrial, commercial, agricultural, and residential customers. Eskom owns and operates a diverse portfolio of power stations, utilizing various energy sources, including coal, gas, hydro, and renewable energy (such as wind and solar). The utility manages an extensive electricity transmission and distribution network to ensure the efficient delivery of power to end-users. Eskom operates under the oversight and regulation of the Department of Public Enterprises and the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA).
