Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA has granted service contract to Australian engineering company Worley Ltd for the offshore wind-related services of the 630 MW London Array offshore wind farm project.
Worley will serve as statutory inspections and general maintenance service provider for the wind-turbine-generator cranes and lifts of the 175-turbines London Array that operates off the Kent coast.
The London Array project has been in operation since 2012. It consists of Siemens 3.6 MW wind turbines, together capable of generating enough power to meet the annual consumption of over 500,000 homes.
