Iberdrola has signed a contract with Windar Renovables to produce 95 transition pieces for the 1.4 GW East Anglia Three offshore wind project situated in UK waters.
Over the next 23 months, Windar Renovables will work over 2,000,000 hours to produce the 95 transition pieces, which each have a maximum height of 20 m and a diameter of 8 m. Once the pieces are constructed, these will be shipped to the East Anglia Three wind farm located off the Norfolk coast.
East Anglia Three adds to the East Anglia wind farm complex, which currently has 714 MW of power and is capable of powering 630,000 UK homes. This project will play a crucial role in the decarbonization of the UK energy sector and contribute to achieving national sustainability goals.
