The engineering firm Visser & Smit Hanab has been awarded by Dutch company Van Oord for the development and construction of a 382.7 MW Fryslan nearshore wind park project in the Netherlands.
Visser & Smit Hanab will perform inter-array cable termination and testing job for the development of the wind project. The company will also install high-voltage cables to connect the wind farm to the Dutch grid.
Van Oord has been awarded the contract for the design, manufacturing, and installation of the monopile foundations and cables that will be used for the wind project. The 382.7 MW Windpark Fryslân consists of 89 Siemens Gamesa 4.3-MW wind turbines. It is expected to be operational by 2021.
