Vattenfall has begun environmental and technical development work for a proposed 56MW onshore wind farm near Adlingfleet, Garthorpe, Fockerby and Luddington, spanning East Riding of Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, UK.

The proposed Adlingfleet Wind Farm would be located near Adlingfleet, Garthorpe, Fockerby and Luddington. The current plans envisage installing up to eight wind turbines, with a combined potential generation capacity of approximately 56 MW. Subject to approval, the wind farm could produce enough locally generated renewable electricity to meet the annual needs of around 45,000 to 50,000 homes. Expanding onshore wind generation would also contribute to the UK’s energy security by reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels, limiting exposure to fluctuations in global fuel prices and helping to manage electricity costs for consumers.

The project remains in the early stages of development, with no final turbine layout determined to date. A range of environmental and technical assessments will be undertaken to evaluate potential impacts related to landscape and visual amenity, ecology, birdlife, flood risk, noise, traffic and aviation. The results of these studies, together with feedback from local communities and other stakeholders, will help shape and refine the project’s design.

If taken forward, the development could generate local economic benefits through employment, procurement and expenditure during both the construction and operational phases. Vattenfall intends to engage with local businesses and communities to explore opportunities for skills development, participation in the supply chain and community investment.
