Canary Wharf Group signs 10-year PPA for 50 MW UK solar project

Canary Wharf Group (CWG) has signed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with ENGIE and British Solar Renewables (BSR) to source renewable electricity from the planned 50MW Knowl Green solar farm in the UK. Under the agreement, ENGIE will manage and structure the supply of electricity generated by the solar project, which is being developed and owned by BSR.

The PPA is expected to cover approximately 40% of CWG’s current electricity consumption, providing the property group with long-term renewable power and greater price certainty. Knowl Green has secured planning consent and grid connection and is expected to generate around 54GWh of electricity annually once operational, enough to supply about 12,500 UK homes and avoid approximately 11,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.
