The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), on behalf of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) under UNEP, has issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) for consulting services to assess Guinea's green hydrogen potential and develop a national strategy.
This initiative seeks to:
Evaluate domestic green hydrogen production capacity, market feasibility, and export options
Formulate a national strategy aligned with regional ambitions, such as WASCAL
Design a pilot project and prepare financial proposals
Build capacity among key stakeholders
Guinea, with low rural electricity access and high fossil fuel dependency, aims to leverage its renewable resources (solar, hydro, biomass) for a resilient, clean energy mix. The project will support industrial decarbonization (mining, transport), stimulate green investment, and contribute to Guinea’s emission targets under its NDCs and mining carbon-neutral goals by 2040. Participants should prepare to join the CTCN Network and register on the UN Global Marketplace. The EOI deadline is 18 July 2025, at 23:59 GMT−4. This EOI is preliminary and does not guarantee eligibility for the final RFP phase. For additional details about this tender, please visit our Business Opportunity page here.
