Ukraine approves Centerenergo privatisation

Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has approved conditions for the sale of state-owned shares in power generation company Centerenergo. The head of State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPFU) announced that the government has approved conditions for sales of 78,3% shares of company, 21,7% of shares of which are traded at the Ukrainian securities exchange. The approved initial price is UAH 5.98 billion (USD0.21234 billion).

Centerenergo is one of the largest power generating companies in Ukraine, which plays a leading part in life-sustaining activity of such industrially advanced regions of Ukraine as Kyiv, Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. Installed capacity in Uglegorska, Zmievska, and Tripolska constitutes 7690 MW or 14% of all installed capacity of power plants in Ukraine. This capacity generates 8% of all electricity in Ukraine.

E&Y has been appointed for the sale process.

The closing of sale is expected to be done by the end of 2018.
