TuuliWatti has completed the construction of 21 MW Viinamäki wind farm. Viinamäki wind farms are among the highest in the Nordic countries to date. The wind farm consists of five Vestas V150 powered 4.2 megawatt power turbines with a hub height of 175 meters.
TuuliWatti and Vestas are both researching and developing Viinamäki's tower solution, which is Vestas' latest tower technology. The 175-meter tower is the tallest all-steel wind turbine tower in the world. The new technology can effectively raise the height of the power plant to higher wind power potential in terms of wind power generation. The production of V150 power plants is up to twice that of previous power plants and the cost of electricity production is less than EUR 30/MWh (USD 33/MWh).
TuuliWat is also building a six-megawatt electric storage facility near the Viinamäki wind farm.
