EDF Power Solutions UK has begun receiving turbine components for the 102 MW Stranoch wind farm in Dumfries and Galloway, UK.

The 102 MW, 20-turbine wind farm, located near New Luce, began receiving key parts such as blades and tower sections from Vestas, transported by specialist contractor Colletts under police escort from the Port of Cairnryan. These deliveries, which started in October 2025 and are scheduled to continue until early December, will occur in twice-daily convoys to minimize disruption to local traffic. EDF Power Solutions UK, the project developer, is coordinating with Police Scotland to manage traffic flow and has advised residents to plan alternative routes. Construction of the wind farm began in May 2024 and is expected to be completed by early 2027. Additionally, EDF has launched a £20,000 annual sponsorship fund to support local community groups, which will transition into a £510,000 annual community benefit fund once the wind farm is operational. This milestone underscores EDF’s commitment to renewable energy development while prioritizing community engagement and minimizing local impact.
