Toshiba ESS partners with EDC for 20 MW geothermal project in Sorsogon

Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation (Toshiba ESS) and Toshiba Philippines have partnered with Bac-Man Geothermal Inc., (BGI), a unit of Energy Development Corporation (EDC), for the construction of the 20 MW Tanawon Flash Geothermal Power Plant Project in Sorsogon, Philippines. 

Toshiba ESS will deliver its Geoportable™ technology and other auxiliaries for the Tanawon geothermal project. Geoportable is a geothermal power generation system developed by Toshiba ESS for small-scale geothermal power generation with an up to 20 MW capacity. 

The project is expected to enter operation in November 2024.
