Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. has partnered with SB Energy Corp. to co-develop a 37.8 MW wind project that will be located at the base of Mount Kunimidake, near the city of Fukui, Japan. A cooperative development feasibility study will be carried out by the partners.
The wind farm will have nine 4.2-MW wind turbines. The construction phase is scheduled to begin in September 2024 and it is anticipated that power generation will begin in May 2027.
Upon completion, the wind farm should be able to generate around 104,784 MWh of clean electricity per year which is enough to serve approximately 29,106 local families annually.
