Suzlon has secured a contract to supply wind turbine generators (WTGs) for Serentica Renewables's 204 MW wind project in Koppal, Karnataka, India. The project is set to be completed in early 2024 and will consist of 68 WTGs with a rated capacity of 3 MW and a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower. The company did not disclose the value of the order.
Suzlon is responsible as part of the arrangement for the equipment supply of the wind turbines, project execution including erection and commissioning, and comprehensive operation and maintenance services once the project is operational. The project has the potential to provide electricity to nearly 170 thousand households and reduce annual CO2 emissions by around 6.63 lakh tonnes after it is commissioned.
The wind farm development aligns with India's sustainable development goals and efforts towards decarbonization and the adoption of cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions.
