Sungrow has secured a contract for the supply of photovoltaic (PV) inverters for SOLA's 256 MWp solar project, the largest private IPP photovoltaic (PV) project in South Africa. The solar facility will provide power to 5 Tronox production plants through wheeling agreements with Eskom.
Sungrow's 1+X modular inverters combine central and string inverter benefits. It is also integrated with an intelligent string-level diagnosis that improves power yield, and real-time parallel arc detection to protect system safety.
The PV project will produce 540 GWh of renewable electricity annually and minimize Tronox's carbon impact by 2023.
