Mumbai-headquartered Sterlite Power Transmission has achieved financial close on its inter-state transmission system project in Northeastern India with an INR4.4 billion (US$57.32 billion) debt financing from Tata Cleantech Capital.
The Nangalbibra-Bongaigaon Transmission project includes 250 ckt km of 400 kV DC transmission line that connects Bongaigaon in Assem to a greenfield substation at Nangalbibra in Meghalaya, a 220/132 kV substation at Meghalaya, and a 50 ckt km of 132 kV DC line that connects Hatsinghmari in Assam to Ampati in Menghalaya.
The project is estimated to value about INR3.24 billion (US$42.21 billion) and is designed to transmit over 1 GW of power from Assam to the western part of Menghalaya.
