Statkraft AS has announced the acquisition of two permitted wind farm projects with a combined capacity of 120 MW in Scotland's Shetland Islands, UK.
The deal includes the 72-MW Beaw Field near Yell, which will have up to 17 turbines, and the Mossy Hill, which will add 12 turbines totaling 48 MW outside Lerwick. Both are under construction and have permits in place. When completed, Beaw Field and Mossy Hill will be capable of generating enough electricity to power over 90,000 homes.
The financial transaction was not disclosed.
