The Government of O'Higgins has approved Statkraft A/S to develop a substation and 110 kV Cardonal-Quelentaro transmission line project located in O'Higgins, Aysen, Chile.
The 110 kV Cardonal-Quelentaro transmission line project will connect Statkraft's 102 MW wind portfolio (30 MW Cardonal, the 24.15 MW Manantiales and the 48.3 MW Cerrillos wind project) to the Sistema Eléctrico Nacional (SEN) Grid, in O'Higgins Region. The three wind projects were acquired by Statkraft from Torsa Renovables SL and are expected to commence construction by the second half of 2021.
The Cardonal-Quelentaro transmission line project consists of approximately 12 km long, of which 167 meters will be underground, and requires the construction of 67 towers.
