Sineng Electric has provided its string PCS MV turnkey stations for the 100 MW/200 MWh sodium-ion battery energy storage system (BESS) in China’s Hubei province.

The first 50 MW/100 MWh phase of the 100 MW/200 MWh energy storage project has been successfully integrated into the grid and is now operational. Managed by Datang Hubei Energy Development, this 50 MW/100 MWh storage system can hold 100,000 kWh of electricity per charge, enough to power about 12,000 households for a day. The facility includes 42 BESS containers with 185Ah sodium-ion batteries, 21 power conversion system (PCS) units, and a 110kV booster station. Sineng’s 2.5MW string PCS MV turnkey solution is tailored to match the sodium-ion battery system's broad DC voltage range, supporting output power from 700V to 1500V.
