Siemens AG has been selected Semco Maritime A/S to supply the main electrical equipment for the electrical service platform (ESP) of the 804 MW Mayflower offshore wind project in the US.
The contract covers the delivery of the high-voltage electrical equipment for the ESP, including shunt reactors and gas-insulated switchgear, as well as monitoring, SCADA, and protection systems.
Semco Maritime is developing the substation of the offshore wind farm with its joint venture partner Bladt Industries A/S. The construction works of the substation is expected to be completed by 2024.
