Siemens Gamesa to supply turbines for 924 MW offshore project off Montauk Point

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA has secured an order to supply 84 SG 11.0-200 DD turbines for the 924 MW Sunrise Wind offshore project to be erected off the coast of Montauk Point, New York, USA.

Sunrise Wind is one of three offshore wind power projects that Eversource Energy and Orsted A/S are developing off the east coast of the country. The wind farm could be fully operational by 2025, depending on the permitting process.

Siemens Gamesa was also selected to provide turbines for the South Fork project off Long Island and the Revolution Wind project in Rhode Island.
