Siemens Gamesa has signed two Preferred Supplier Agreements for the MFW Baltyk II (720 MW) and MFW Baltyk III (720 MW) wind power plants with Equinor and Polenergia. The supply agreement includes the delivery of SG 14-236 DD offshore wind turbines and a service contract.
The wind projects are located in the Baltic Sea, about 81 km (50 miles) from the port of Leba. Together the facilities have a cumulative capacity of 1440 MW, producing electricity for around two million Polish homes.
Both 720 MW agreements remain subject to customary conditions, including final investment decision and required permitting, which are planned for 2024. The first power is expected to be delivered in 2027.
PGE and Ørsted are planning to conduct the third stage of the geotechnical survey for 2.5 GW Baltica Offshore wind farms.
