Siemens Gamesa has announced that it has secured an order from Enel Russia for the supply of 90 MW of wind turbines. The scope of the agreement includes delivery, installation and service for 26 SG 3.4-132 turbines for the Azovskaya wind farm, located in southern Russia, which is due to be commissioned in 2020.
The 90 MW plant will generate around 300 GWh per year and avoid the emission of around 99,200 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere.
A portion of the turbine components will be locally procured and assembled, in fulfillment of localization requirements in the agreement.
This is the first order for Siemens Gamesa in Russia and belongs to the preliminary agreement signed with Enel in 2017 for the supply of 291 MW turbines for two wind farms in the country.
