Enel Green Power (EGP) has started construction of the 90 MW Azov wind farm located in the Rostov region, Southern Russia. The wind farm is owned by the Group’s subsidiary Enel Russia while EGP is in charge of construction activities after having completed the development stage.
Enel Russia’s overall investment in the Azov wind farm amounts to approximately EUR132 million (US$148 million). The project is expected to enter into service by the end of 2020, and will be able to generate around 320 GWh of clean energy each year once fully operational, avoiding the annual emission of around 260,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere. The wind facility will consist of 26 turbines spread across 133 hectares.
