Island Green Power has closed the second phase of consultation on its proposals for the 500 MW East Pye Solar in South Norfolk, UK.
The Phase Two statutory consultation for the East Pye Solar project concluded on August 6, 2025, after a seven-week engagement period from June 18 to August 6. During this phase, Island Green Power hosted six in-person events and one online webinar, collectively welcoming over 550 attendees, including individuals and organizations who shared valuable feedback and concerns. Now, the project team is reviewing all submitted responses alongside ongoing environmental and technical studies to refine the project plans.
Known as East Pye Solar, the development would comprise the installation of ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and a battery energy storage system (BESS) with infrastructure that connects the Scheme to the existing 400kV overhead line. This runs north to south between Norwich Main and Bramford substations. East Pye Solar is anticipated to be able to deliver up to 500 MW of electricity. This is enough clean, reliable energy to power approximately 115,000 homes annually.
