RWE has taken the final investment decision to build two new onshore wind farms in the Apulia region with a planned capacity of 108 MW. Both projects, San Severo, located in San Severo Municipality, and Mondonuovo, located in Mesagne Municipality, have already received building permits. The total investment volume is approximately EUR180 million (US$202.06 million).
The 54 MW San Severo project will be located in Foggia Province. It will consist of 12 turbines with a capacity of 4.5 MW each that are scheduled to be installed and commissioned by the end of 2024.
The 54 MW Mesagne project will be constructed in the Brindisi Province. The construction of the wind farm is scheduled to start in the beginning of 2024 and the facility is to be commissioned mid-2025.
