RWE has started the commercial operation of the 19.8 MW Krusemark-Ellingen wind project located in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.
The Krusemark-Ellingen wind project was initially constructed between 1998 and 2004. The project consists of six Nordex turbines with a generation capacity of 3.3 megawatts (MW), replacing the 15 existing Enercon systems, expected to supply electricity to more than 13,000 households.
Most of the decommissioned Enercon turbines are being sold as complete sets, including the steel towers, to be re-used on other wind farms.
Krusemark-Ellingen is RWE’s third repowering project in Germany.
