rPlus Hydro, the subsidiary of US renewables developer rPlus Energies, has filed for a draft license application with the state of Wyoming for the development of the 900 MW Seminoe Pumped Storage project in Carbon County, Wyoming, USA.
The hydroelectric power plant will be constructed near Rawlins City and would require around US$2.5 billion of investment. The final license application will be submitted to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) once the 90-day review is completed.
rPlus Hydro intends to conduct a geotechnical assessment to support the underground facility feasibility design, locate pump-generating equipment, route a transmission line to local grid interconnection, evaluate project constructability, and provide an opinion on the likely construction cost.
