Australian Potash Ltd has selected PWR Hybrid as the preferred bidder to build, own, and operate the hybrid renewable microgrid facility that will be installed at the Lake Wells sulfate of potash project (LSOP) in Australia.
The Lake Wells hybrid renewable power generation complex consists of a gas-fuelled power generator with photovoltaic (PV), wind, and battery energy storage facilities for a combined generating capacity of 35 MW. The project has a 4.5 MW solar capacity, 9 MW wind, 9 MW energy storage, 10.7 MW of gas, and a 2 MW diesel power generation set.
The microgrid project will be built in stages. The developers are now preparing to complete the power purchase deal.
