Ørsted has entered into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Amy's Kitchen for the sale of clean energy from the 201 MW Sunflower wind farm project located in Marion County, Kansas, USA.
Through the agreement, Amy's Kitchen will utilize about 14,000 MWh of renewable energy from the wind farm enough to power 2,000 homes per year, which is around 30% of the company's power need. Amy’s is one of several Walmart suppliers invited to participate in Walmart's renewable energy accelerator, Gigaton Power Purchase Agreement, powered by Schneider Electric’s NEO Network.
The signature program launched by Walmart will extend over a 12-year term, leading the way as more companies strive to reduce environmental impact and demonstrate sustainability leadership.
