PKN Orlen and Northland Power have secured the construction permit for the development of the 1.2 GW offshore wind farm located about 22 km from the Baltic coast, near Leba and Choczewo, in Poland.
The project is expected to supply green energy to up to 1.5 million Polish homes for 25 years. PKN Orlen and Northland Power have selected Vestas as the preferred turbine supplier for the wind farm.
The wind farm will consist of 76 Vestas' 236-15.0 MW wind turbines that will be installed by Cadeler. The project is expected to be operational by 2026.
