State-owned Petrovietnam Power of PertroVietnam plans to build a US$1.5 billion liquefied natural gas power plant project, which will be located in the southernmost province of Ca Mau.
The 1,500 MW Ca Mau Power Plant 3 project is a gas-fired facility that will be built on about 26 hectares of land in Khanh An commune. It is expected to generate up to 9 billion kWh of energy per year once operational.
The construction work is planned to begin by 2022.
