South Korea-based GS Energy and Vietnamese investment firm VinaCapital has partnered to develop a 3,000 MW LNG-to-power complex that pours about KRW3.5 trillion (US$3.09 billion) of investment in Long An province of Vietnam.
The developers were given investment licenses to proceed with the project from the Vietnamese government. The power complex will consist of Long An I and Long An II plants built on about 90 hectares of land in the Southeast Asia Services Area, which is a part of the Long An International Port.
The power complex is expected to begin in operation in December 2025.
