Brazil's semi-public multinational company, Petróleo Brasileiro commonly known as Petrobras, has launched the sale of its remaining 10% stakes in the Transportadora Associada de Gás SA, or TAG, and Nova Transportadora do Sudeste SA, or NTS. The units operate the natural gas pipelines in Brazil.
Petrobras has divested a 90% stake in the TAG pipeline to a consortium led by France's Engie SA for US$8.6 billion in April 2019, and a 90% stake in the NTS pipeline to Brookfield Brasil Asset Management Investimentos Ltda for US$5.08 billion in April 2017.
The development is part of the company's plan to reduce debt and focus on offshore projects.
