Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd. (KREDL) has issued a Letter of Award (LoA) to Pace Digitek for 250 MW/1.1 GWh solar plus Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Ryapte village located at Annadanapura and Reddyvarahalli in Pavagada Taluk of Tumkuru district in the Pavagada Solar Park in Karnataka, India.
The project, valued at INR 17,750 million (US$195 million), was awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process. It is intended to supply peak power and support grid optimization in the state. The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has adopted an interim tariff of INR 5.51/kWh (US$0.061) and approved viability gap funding. Power evacuation will take place through the existing KSPDCL Pooling 220/66 kV Substation No. 6. The project is scheduled to achieve commercial operation within 18 months from the signing of the power purchase agreement and will have a project life of 25 years.
Following the award, the company’s total consolidated order book stands at INR 102,428 million (US$1.12 billion). This includes INR 77,792 million (US$854 million) in the energy segment, spanning solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), standalone BESS, solar-plus-storage and balance-of-system projects, and INR 24,637 million (US$270 million) in the telecom segment, covering tower infrastructure EPC, operation and maintenance, and telecom power equipment supply.
