OnPath Energy has commenced construction of the GBP 155 million (US$209 million) 33.4 MW Mill Rig Wind Farm, near Darvel in South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

Once fully operational in 2026, the project will produce enough clean electricity to supply around 45,000 homes each year. Construction is already progressing steadily, with key infrastructure works—such as access roads, substation bases, and initial site setup—well underway. In the coming months, construction teams will move on to building crane pads and pouring the foundations for the wind turbines. The delivery of turbine components is anticipated in autumn 2025, followed by installation and commissioning in early 2026.

As part of its OnPath Together development model, the Hamilton-based company expects the project to create around 300 direct jobs, with additional employment opportunities arising through the broader supply chain. OnPath Energy has pledged to prioritize the use of local contractors and businesses, committing approximately £91 million in spending within a 60 km radius of the site. Over its operational life, the Mill Rig Wind Farm will provide a £5 million community fund to support local organizations and environmental initiatives within 10 km of the project. Additionally, South Lanarkshire Council is projected to receive around £18 million in business rates revenue.
