Ocean Winds has obtained an environmental permit for its 400 MW BC-Wind offshore wind project, which will be constructed 23 kilometers north of Choczewo and Krokowo in the Pomeranian Voivodeship of Poland.
The permission follows the satisfactory completion of the environmental impact assessment process. The presence of seabirds and migrating birds over the projected investment area, the activity of bats, and the occurrence of marine mammals were assessed as considerations.
BC-Wind is on pace to begin commercial operations in 2027.
Oceans Winds is a 50-50 joint venture owned by EDP Renewables and ENGIE.
