Northland Power has signed a 20-year fixed-price Energy Storage Facility Agreement (ESFA) with the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) for revenue payments for the majority of the capacity of the Oneida Energy Storage Project located in Ontario, Canada.

The facility is a 250 MW/1000 MWh lithium-based battery energy storage system project that is planned for construction near Nanticoke in southeastern Ontario. Northland Power is working with NRStor and the Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation for the construction of the project.

Northland has also closed a Battery Supply Agreement and a long-term Service Agreement with Tesla for the supply of key components of the project and the delivery of services for the plant. Aecon Group will be providing the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for the project.
