Nofar Energy plans to invest EUR300 million in Romanian RES

Nofar Energy plans to develop or purchase wind and solar projects in Romania, where it wants to invest more than EUR300 million (US$316 million) over the next two years.

The firm wants to attain 1 GW of renewable energy source (RES) capacity in Romania by the end of 2022, both organically and through acquisitions. Nofar has recently secured a EUR130 million (US$137 million) deal for a 169 MW photovoltaic project in Iepuresti, Giurgiu county, that would be completed in the first half of 2023. The project has also the potential to be expanded to 400 MWp.
