Israeli power producer Econergy and Israeli renewable energy company NoFar Energy inaugurated their jointly developed 155 MW Rătești PV Park in Romania.
The large-scale initiative, spanning 170 ha utilizes cutting-edge Canadian Solar monocrystalline bifacial and monofacial panels, featuring various output classes ranging from 655 W to 660 W. Expected to generate 219.19 TWh annually, this project, which costs EUR102 million (US$109 million) to construct, stands as Romania's most significant solar facility. By the close of 2022, Romania boasted a total installed solar capacity of 1,414 MW.
The park's total installed capacity is enough electricity to power over 100,000 homes. It is also expected to offset 168,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
