CEP Renewables, CS Energy, Terrasmart, Lindsay Precast, and NJR Clean Energy Ventures have completed the largest landfill solar project in North America. The 25.6 MWdc solar photovoltaic (PV) farm in Mount Olive, New Jersey, has helped the township recover over US$2.3 million in past taxes and turn the old Combe Fill North Landfill Superfund site into a revenue-generating, clean energy asset.
The Mount Olive project has become a model for redeveloping abandoned landfill sites around the US, giving local communities more tax money and cheaper renewable energy.
NJR Clean Energy Ventures will own and operate the solar PV park. The company leases the land from CEP Renewables.
