NIPSCO, NextEra signs PPA for 300 MW solar projects in Indiana

Northern Indiana Public Service Company LLC (NIPSCO), a unit of US utility NiSource Inc, has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with NextEra Energy Resources for the energy produced from two solar farms in Indiana of 300 MW combined capacity. 

NIPSCO will purchase the energy produced by the 200 MW Brickyard Solar and 100 MW Greensboro Solar farms being developed in central Indiana. The Greensboro solar farm project will have an integrated battery storage unit with 30 MW capacity. 

The projects are expected to be operational by 2023.
