NextEra Energy Resources LLC, a unit of NextEra Energy Inc., plans to build a 690 MW solar photovoltaic project that will be developed on the land of a decommissioned nuclear facility in Linn County in Iowa.
The Duane Arnold Solar Project will represent about US$700 million of capital investment and will be built on around 3,500 acres of land formerly occupied by the Duane Arnold nuclear power complex.
The project is expected to be operational by 2023.
