The Wyoming Industrial Siting Council has granted a permit to NextEra Energy Resources, subsidiary Roundhouse Renewable Energy LLC, for the construction and operation of an up to 300 MW Roundhouse wind park to be built on private lands in Laramie County, Cheyenne, in Wyoming.
The wind project has an installation of 120 turbines, an operations and maintenance (O&M) facility, up to two substations, an electrical collection system and a transmission line to an existing substation in Northern Colorado. The construction will begin this month and be completed at end-2020. During the peak construction period in August 2020, the project will provide jobs to 240 people.
The proposal complies with all law regulations and does not pose a threat to the environment and the social and economic condition of the selected area’s inhabitants. The approval allows construction to be launched no later than three years after the permit’s issue date.
